It’s December and that means the Christmas season is upon us.
The other week, my wife and I returned from a successful annual Christmas tree scavenger hunt. Of course, we always get a real pine tree, but for all sorts of reasons many people don’t.
At this time of year, lots of families will delve deep into their basements in search of artificial trees, baubles, and tinsel and in doing so, will unknowingly expose themselves to an array of endocrine-disrupting chemicals and highly toxic materials.
These chemicals pollute not just holiday decorations, but every corner of modern life— especially the furniture.
This is posing a major challenge as we re-furnish for the coming baby. But we have found some very good solutions, just takes a bit of work.
With that in mind, it’s time for our monthly Q&A!
As you know, these Q&As allow paid subscribers to ask anything in the comments—no need to limit yourself to tanning questions. I’ll do my best to answer them, or refer you to sources that I think will be helpful.
Some topics for consideration:
How to have a non-toxic Christmas
Best fats for cooking at Christmas
Getting enough sunlight and vitamin D in winter months
Holistic pregnancy advice

When someone is typing, should their hands float above the keyboard like the 1940s secretaries or should they be resting on the desk (common way of people typing at college)?
I used to only wear makeup occasionally, but since turning 40 I have started using a tinted moisturizer and cream blush most days. I have noticed a lot of age spots showing up on my face in the past year and now I am wondering if it is caused by seed oils in my makeup. I am using products made by Beauty Counter and I think they are seed oil free but wasn't sure about one ingredient: JOJOBA ESTERS. Are you familiar with this ingredient and is it a seed oil? If it is, are you aware of any seed-oil free make-up?
