Just curious Tan Man. What oil do you recommend for oiling cast iron skillets?

flax seed oil is ironically the best fat for seasoning cast iron because it turns into plastic when sufficiently heated.

It's important to stress that by the time the seasoning is complete, there is no actual flax seed oil left-- it has all been polymerized into a non-stick, hard surface
